Let's connect through reading!

Looking for a fun, educational, and exciting way to connect with your 5th Grade teacher?
Well, here is one way!

This summer as I get ready for teaching 5th Grade, I will be posting messages about the books I am reading.  Hopefully, these are some of the books you are reading or have read.  I hope we can recommend books to one another and discuss things like themes, characters, questions and even author’s craft!
You each have a place on the blog to post comments about the books you are reading this summer. Click on your name and leave me a note about your reading! Come back to the blog later in the day or the next day and I will have responded to your comment! You can also click on a friend's name and learn about the books they are reading and leave a comment for them.  I will read all comments before I post them.
I hope you take this opportunity to start communicating with me.  I am looking forward to being your teacher!
Happy Summer and Happy Reading!

Wondering what a blog is, here is a definition:
A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world.  Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.  In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.

  1. I can't wait to see what some of my former students and their friends post on the blog about the books they are reading! It would be great if they could recommend some books for our class to read-maybe as a read aloud!
