EarthKam!

Dear Families,
Last week we had a crash course with Mr. Miller about the International Space Station, Latitude and Longitude and World Geography!  For 4 days we located spots on the globe that we wished to have photographed by the ISS.  We sent the ISS detailed information about the longitude and latitude of places from Australia to Africa, from Mt. Everest to Ireland!  We had to use special maps with orbits, these orbits told us when the ISS would be flying over the places we wished to photograph!  The photographs started coming in on Thursday!  Next week in science class, we will view our images, caption them and throughout the year we will return to these photos as we think about the world and how it looks in different places!  Your child will share some of their images with you at our Open House on November 17th, 8am - 9am!  Way to go 5th Graders!  Team work and persistence!
