Penny Drive for Spectrum Sleepout
Hi,
Many girls and boys are doing a Spectrum Sleep Out. We are trying to raise money for homeless adults and children. We are sleeping outside to show what homeless people do EVERY NIGHT!!! There are approximately 1,000 young people that are homeless in VT! That's not good! So help the homeless by donating to our Penny Drive for Spectrum! We've already started collecting coins and bills! The Girls and Boys are competing against each other in a healthy competition to see which Penny Drive collects the most donations!

Folk Music Petting Zoo
Thanks Joplin for bringing us an instrument petting zoo! Oliver showed us percussion, woodwind and string instruments! We tried them all out and ended our visit with a line dance to live music by Oliver! Tomorrow we are off to the Flynn Theater to hear the VSO!

Town Meeting Day
Learning to vocabulary connected with Town Meeting Day by matching words with definitions! We were als working in small groups and practicing habits like listening, being flexible and persevering!
Reading and answering questions about Town Meeting and its history!
Lastly, reading about a current issue in our town, the SCS Renovation. Discussing the pros and cons of the $11.2 million dollar bond and finally having a mock Town Meeting to discuss the issue! We took a floor vote and in our classroom it passed with a majority voice! Great discussion and a meaningful way to learn about Town Meeting!
